Challenge

A beautiful home in Great Falls, VA had a wet and moldy crawlspace. The damp air and mildew odors were traveling up through the home due to stack effect and air leaks between the crawl space and the floors above it.

Solution

To remediate this problem, the 3 Pros specialists had to take several measures. First, we removed all of the existing moldy and damaged insulation from everywhere in the crawl space, including the duct work, walls, and ceiling. Then we treated the areas affected by mold by using Spray Moldx2 Cleaner. We installed a SmartDrain Plumbing Leak System in the crawl space and then a SaniDry Sedona Crawl Space Air System. Finally, we spray foamed the walls and rim joists of the crawl space and closed the vents to seal the outside air out. Now, the crawl space air is much healthier, making the entire home's air quality healthier as well.

This beautiful home in Great Falls, VA wanted to improve their indoor air quality and get rid of the mold in their crawl space.

Here you can see mold on the joists. Mold can grow on any organic material if the conditions are right.

We removed all of the yucky, moldy, insulation from the crawl space.

We wiped down the vapor barrier with EPA approved botanical based Biocide, treated the wood work, and fogged the air to kill air born microbes.

Our SaniDry Sedona was installed to dehumidify the air and reduce dust mite and mold spore allergens in the crawl space.

Closed Cell Spray Foam was installed on the walls and rim joists of the crawl space to seal up the area.
